What you can do

From preparation to issuance

An Insurance Coordinator begins with a policyholder, an organization and a named owner. The policy holds the premium and effective date; its coverage lines carry the terms that matter when a loss is assessed. Keep the policy revision visible as those terms change. The carrier policy ID and issue time belong to the issuance result, after the policy has been reviewed.

For example, a coordinator prepares a policy for an active policyholder, attaches the coverage line, and sends the revision into review. The Authorized Underwriter examines the same revision and records a decision. The issuance action starts from an under review policy. On success it records the carrier policy ID, issue time and an operation receipt. The team can then see that the reviewed revision, issued policy and external reference belong to the same case.

How the work is organized

  • Policy identity. The policy number, subject, policyholder, organization and owner establish which contract is being handled.
  • Coverage terms. Each line retains a coverage code, limit, deductible, exclusion and effective period where applicable.
  • Issuance result. The policy state and carrier reference tell the next operator whether the issuance action completed.

What to agree during setup

Agree who prepares policyholder eligibility, who owns assigned policies and which person can independently review a changed revision. Agree how the carrier policy ID returns to the team and which source establishes it. Use one representative policy with coverage effective dates and a real reviewer decision to check the handoff. Keep the insurer organization and policyholder scope aligned before the first issuance. An App Administrator maintains those organization and membership records; the business decision stays with the Authorized Underwriter.

Check the handoff on an actual case

Take a Draft policy and compare its coverage lines with the evidence the reviewer receives. Once it moves to under review, check the revision the underwriter saw against the revision the issuance action uses. After issuance, find the carrier policy ID and issue time on the policy and the matching operation receipt. A second execution with the same operation key should resolve to the same effect instead of creating another issue event. If cancellation is requested before execution, retain the reason with the cancelled revision. An executed change follows the review and endorsement route.

What your team sees

  • Lifecycle and issuance — Follow each policy through preparation, review and issuance with its assigned owner.
  • Operations and results — Check the action result when a carrier reference needs reconciliation.

Follow the work through

Follow policy review and issuance for the decision sequence, then use the data model to plan policy and coverage migration.
