What you can do
Record what the client chose
After a shoot, the Content Producer records the image reference the client chose, whether it was selected, its print size, quantity and approval date. Every proof selection belongs to a photo session. This gives the studio a direct route from a requested print back to the shoot and its photographer. The selected image reference is the anchor for discussing a particular proof; the print size and quantity describe the requested output.
The selection capture checks the actor and the linked session. It follows the session’s photographer to the active person and linked user, validates the submitted command as one operation, saves the attributed selection and returns its id for the linked session detail. Reviewer evidence is appended to the record of that action. A rejected command leaves the selection unrecorded, so the Content Producer can correct the image reference or session rather than treating a partial entry as a client order.
How the work is organized
- Session link. Every selection points to the shoot that produced the proof.
- Client choice. The selected value distinguishes an image the client chose from one only under consideration.
- Print detail. Print size and quantity travel with the image reference for production review.
What to agree during setup
Agree a stable naming convention for image references. The team should be able to locate the actual image without interpreting a free-form nickname. Agree how client choices are received and who may enter them. The studio can use the approval date to record the decision time, but it should decide which customer communication establishes that decision. Define allowed print size wording and check quantities with the person responsible for fulfillment.
Keep the photographer person record active and connected to a user before a producer enters selections. The workflow uses that relationship to authorize the action. Rehearse a selection for the right session and a selection that refers to another session, then confirm the saved detail shows only the accepted record. Print fulfillment is a separate connection to plan with the studio’s provider.
Check the handoff on an actual case
A client picks a portrait image from a completed shoot and asks for a specified size and quantity. The Content Producer opens the session, enters its image reference, marks it selected and records the print details. Capture resolves the session’s photographer and checks that the actor may submit the selection. The producer receives the saved record id and refreshes the session detail. A second image can be recorded against the same shoot without losing the first choice. Before sending the print order onward, the Producer reads the selected references and quantities in the session context.
