Who it's for

Multi-zone operation

A warehouse split into picking zones can use the wave zone and route evidence to review each release against available stock. The first operating cycle should cover one item, a known lot and a request whose quantity can be checked at the shelf. Supervisors can then compare the decision and stock effect against the same source record.

How Pick & Pack Optimization is set up for you

Demand

Record the item, owner, requested units and required date on the stock request.

Availability

Confirm the selected lot's on-hand balance and active held reservations before promising more units.

Wave

Use the zone and required units to prepare a submitted plan for a separate reviewer.

Packing

Identify handling units by carton label, item and pack station; review pack state before staging.

Evidence

Follow the review decision, posted movement and operation receipt back to the source request.

A warehouse split into picking zones can use the wave zone and route evidence to review each release against available stock. The first operating cycle should cover one item, a known lot and a request whose quantity can be checked at the shelf. Supervisors can then compare the decision and stock effect against the same source record.

Begin with an active organization, a team member, a location, an item and a lot. Create a draft request, review it, hold stock and submit a wave. Ask the supervisor to decide the wave without using the creator's account. Execute the approved request only after the necessary stock check. Reconcile the posted signed movement against the authorized quantity, then inspect the receipt.

Move to additional locations once the first request can be traced through each decision and stock effect. If a correction is needed, retain the original movement and use the compensating path. Keep shipment and stop details linked to their own load; use the carton record to identify what is packed at the station. The team can review the operating questions in [reports](/pick-pack-optimization/reports) and agree the pilot sequence in [implementation](/pick-pack-optimization/implementation).
