How a Construction PM rollout works
Begin with one site and rehearse the real task, issue and labour decisions.
Agree the pilot site
Name the project manager, site manager, trade lead and quality inspector. Choose one active project, its client or contractor, programme dates and an initial work package.
Map people and work
Import active crew, weekly capacity, package owners and task assignees. Keep project, package and task references consistent; confirm access accounts separately from crew records.
Open the operating lists
Review active projects, task board, blocked tasks, milestones and Site Exception Triage with the people who will use them each morning.
Rehearse decisions
Raise an Open RFI with severity and confirm triage plus a receipt. Try missing severity and a stale status. Submit positive time and check its approval result; then try zero hours and a changed status. Check the review and receipt outcomes.
Review the first cycle
Reconcile package estimates, task actuals and approved time. Check overdue milestones, unverified fixes and leading risks with their owners. Confirm evidence links point to the intended subjects before adding another project.
What the customer provides
- Project codes, names, client or contractor contacts, dates, scope and delivery methods.
- Work packages, task lists, estimates, active crew and weekly capacity.
- Milestones, current RF is, site issues and construction risks with owners.
- Drawings and inspection file links with stable source identifiers.
- A person to review labour approval results and a reviewer for technical evidence.
Changing it afterwards
Review a change to fields, roles, views or workflows with the person who owns the affected decision. Replay the pilot’s positive and failed triage and approval cases. Check that imported references, report definitions and personal work lists still point to the right records before the change reaches the active site.
