How a Product Lifecycle Mgmt (PLM) rollout works
Pilot the design-to-production handoff with real reviewer identities and reconciled opening stock.
Agree the operating boundary
Product Engineer and Engineering Reviewer define the design and change evidence. Production Planner identifies demand and the manufacturing instruction handoff. Agree design-repository, receiving or finance connections where your operating cycle needs them.
Map records and identities
Admin resolves user accounts and people, then maps items, parties and resources. Agree source identity, revision naming, lot locations and units before importing linked operating records.
Configure access and screens
Set preparing and deciding responsibilities with ordinary accounts. Confirm that Engineering Reviewer can inspect the submitted evidence and Quality Inspector can perform accepted release. Rehearse own-record access for Operator.
Rehearse the complete cycle
Submit a design, review and implement its change, release feasible work and post an eligible issue. Record an attributed interval and accept inspected Pending output. Include duplicate scope, insufficient stock, invalid dates and Held output.
Reconcile and open the pilot
Compare material deductions and accepted receipts with their evidence. Keep a Pending sibling to check incomplete work. Preserve the source baseline and agree recovery responsibility before opening the operating cycle to the team.
What the customer provides
- Product identities, unit conventions, design files and revision naming.
- Responsible reviewers and the account identities of people submitting production evidence.
- Customer and supplier records, approved demand and purchase commitments.
- Resource availability and feasible planned dates for pilot work.
- Opening stock by item, location and lot with reserved quantities.
- Inspection evidence and the accepted-quantity basis needed for output release.
Changing it afterwards
Use Proto to prepare changes for the named operating owners to review. Rehearse affected actions and refusal cases before release. Design corrections retain attributed successor evidence; the team should retrieve the original deciding basis when explaining a later change. Agree correction procedures with the people responsible for stock and quality results.
