What you can do
Fee billing in daily work
Track milestone invoices, due dates, collections and disputed fees. The Billing Specialist links each fee billing to its advisory deliverable and records invoice number, amount and due date. Overdue or disputed billings stay visible. Once collection is confirmed, marking a billing received creates a local payment operation receipt.
How the work is organized
- Ownership. Billing Specialist takes the first action and passes the record to the next named owner when a decision is due.
- Source records. Fee billings, their deliverables and operation receipts show the collection trail.
- Exceptions. Use the saved list screens and operation history to find work that needs correction or follow-up.
What to agree during setup
Agree who records invoice details, where collection is confirmed and who resolves disputed amounts. Keep the deliverable link and invoice number stable for reconciliation. A local Payment Record receipt records the status change; use the firm payment or accounting source to confirm money received.
The billing status distinguishes a scheduled fee, an issued invoice, a received amount, an overdue fee and a dispute. Keep those changes tied to the same deliverable. A paid date and payment method can help the specialist reconcile the firm collection record. If a customer disputes an amount, inspect the milestone and engagement before changing the billing record, then retain the original operation result.
Check the handoff on an actual case
A billing specialist records an invoice number, amount and due date for an approved deliverable. If the fee becomes overdue or disputed, its billing status makes it visible for follow-up. After collection is confirmed, marking the billing received writes a payment operation receipt for the fee.
For an overdue fee, the Billing Specialist checks its deliverable, amount, due date and invoice number against the collection record. After confirmation, the specialist marks it received and checks the Payment Record receipt. The Partner reviews billed and delivered amounts without treating a local receipt as bank settlement.
