What you can do
Margin and evidence in daily work
Review engagement economics with the records behind delivery and billing. The Partner uses the Engagement Margin Desk to compare contract value with delivered and billed amounts. Its realization, projected margin and over-budget signals lead to the underlying engagement. Source records explain a signal before a commercial decision.
How the work is organized
- Ownership. Partner takes the first action and passes the record to the next named owner when a decision is due.
- Source records. The engagement, service, milestone, fee and evidence records explain each desk signal.
- Exceptions. Use the saved list screens and operation history to find work that needs correction or follow-up.
What to agree during setup
Agree which engagement owns each source record and who can inspect commercial rates. Decide which contract, deliverable or receipt files belong in compliance evidence and keep parent identifiers accurate. Compare the desk figures with engagement and billing records before a commercial decision.
Use the engagement drilldown to separate contract value, delivered value and invoiced service value. The expense total and delivered cost provide further context for margin. A signal may call for a scope discussion, but the Partner should check the linked service and fee records first. Operation receipts explain executed approvals and billing actions; evidence links point to the file and parent record behind the decision.
Check the handoff on an actual case
A Partner opens an engagement whose delivered work is growing faster than its contracted value. The Engagement Margin Desk shows delivered and billed amounts, realization, projected margin and over-budget signals. The Partner opens the engagement and checks service entries, deliverable billing and related evidence before discussing scope or delivery changes.
On an engagement nearing its contract value, the Partner drills down from the desk. The Engagement Manager checks approved service amounts, invoiced amounts and delivered cost on that engagement. The Billing Specialist checks linked milestone fees and collection status. Evidence files need the correct parent record to explain discrepancies.
