How a Resource Booking System rollout works
Start with one delivery cycle and rehearse the approval and exception paths.
Set ownership
Choose the Project Manager, Delivery Lead, Team Member and Usage Reviewer for the first booking. Confirm the organization and team member records.
Load a booking
Enter the agreed schedule, budget context, work groups, assigned items and dated confirmations.
Rehearse exceptions
Raise a conflict with severity, check triage and the receipt, then test a missing-severity case. Add a constraint with an owner and mitigation.
Rehearse usage
Submit positive hours for an assigned item and inspect the approval decision and receipt. Test an invalid-hours attempt.
Review completion
Compare the booking’s end date, work states, time and checkpoints before deciding whether it can be completed.
What the customer provides
Bring organization names, active delivery team members, booking owners, date ranges, work group names and the hours you expect to reserve. Choose someone to review usage outcomes and failed attempts. Bring one example of a raised issue and one possible delivery constraint so the team can agree on severity and mitigation. If files or finance data need to move elsewhere, identify the receiving system and its owner.
Changing it afterwards
When a delivery plan changes, revisit the booking dates and the dates on its work and confirmations. Keep earlier usage and review decisions understandable. Update team ownership when a person changes role, then rehearse access on an active booking. Use the data model to prepare imports and roles to review access.
