What you can do
Keep the channel offer attached to the quote
A promotional offer needs a clear relationship to the customer quote it affects. Quote Specialist prepares the channel, promotion code and bundle quantity under that quote, then records the offer’s validity. The selling organization stays visible so a promotion prepared for one commercial scope cannot quietly become an offer in another.
Channel wording gives the reviewer useful context. A store offer and an online offer may use different promotion codes even when the customer asks about the same products. The bundle record keeps those details available during review, while the parent quote carries the priced line amounts and customer decision.
A submitted bundle waits for an independent Pricing Reviewer. Approval establishes the pricing decision; completion follows persisted evidence of the operation’s effect. Keeping those points distinct lets the team investigate an approved offer whose execution still needs attention.
How the work is organized
- Offer preparation. Quote Specialist records the intended channel and promotion code with the quantity and validity. The bundle points to its parent quote and selling organization throughout preparation.
- Independent decision. Submission moves a Draft bundle to Submitted. Pricing Reviewer checks the current revision and either approves or rejects the offer through the guarded review action.
- Evidence of completion. An Approved bundle reaches Completed only after the operation has persisted its evidence. Promotion stacking and price validity are checked once per quote line during the bundle operation.
What to agree during setup
Agree the channel labels the team will use and the source of valid promotion codes. A consistent label makes the channel offer report useful when several people prepare offers. Decide who confirms that a promotion remains available on the intended date and how a customer request near expiry should be handled.
Rehearse promotion stacking with the actual offer rules. A code appearing on a bundle is a commercial input, so the team needs to know how it affects the parent quote’s lines. Use the same revision for the reviewer and the completion check. The review conversation should identify the affected customer offer without requiring someone to reconstruct it from a promotion email.
Check the handoff on an actual case
Take a customer quote for a seasonal product package. Quote Specialist records an online channel offer with a promotion code and a validity date. The bundle is submitted, and Pricing Reviewer checks its relationship to the customer quote before approving the current revision.
Repeat the request with the same operation identity. Check that a promotion has not been applied again to a line and that the original outcome remains traceable. Then rehearse a promotion whose validity has elapsed. The offer must not proceed as though the earlier approval made the price valid indefinitely. Finally, inspect an approved offer awaiting completion evidence: the person following up should be able to distinguish that case from a completed bundle.
