What you can do

Give the reviewer the offer being decided

Pricing Reviewer receives the quote after the pricing action has moved it into Review. The decision concerns a specific revision, with its line amounts, validity and customer context. A conversation about an earlier draft cannot authorize a changed offer merely because the quote number stayed the same.

The reviewer can approve, reject or return the quote with a reason. Approval makes the current offer eligible for the next commercial step. Return sends it back for preparation, while rejection records that the offer should not proceed in its reviewed form. Review history retains the decision, reviewer and source revision so another person can follow the outcome later.

Customer acceptance is recorded against an eligible approved revision. Quote Specialist checks that the decision still applies and that the validity date permits acceptance. The accepted time belongs to that quote. The subsequent order handoff uses this accepted commercial record as its starting point.

How the work is organized

  • Review preparation. Quote Specialist provides the priced quote and its supporting evidence. Pricing Reviewer checks the current revision and the reason for any commercial concession before deciding.
  • Independent authority. The person approving must be independent of the preparer under the configured guard. A review request identifies its source revision and operation identity so conflicting or repeated requests can be checked.
  • Customer decision. Quote Specialist records acceptance only after approval and within validity. A stale revision or expired offer cannot become accepted business through a repeated action.

What to agree during setup

Name the Pricing Reviewer for the pilot and rehearse the separation from Quote Specialist. App Administrator maintains memberships, but that maintenance responsibility does not supply pricing approval authority. Agree who receives a returned quote and what detail a useful review reason should contain.

Choose the acceptance evidence the team will retain with the quote. A customer’s written confirmation can be attached with the appropriate visibility. Agree the business time zone used to interpret validity and follow-up near expiry. The customer-facing offer and the record presented for review should identify the same revision.

Check the handoff on an actual case

Submit a quote whose customer has requested a larger discount for a store-opening package. Pricing Reviewer returns it with a reason explaining which commercial input needs correction. Quote Specialist updates the draft and requests pricing again. The next review must concern the revised offer, while the earlier return remains in the history.

Approve the new revision and record the customer’s acceptance while the offer is valid. Replay that successful request and confirm it recovers the original result. On separate offers awaiting their first acceptance, try a stale revision and an expired validity date; both must be refused. Also try the preparer’s identity as the reviewer. The legitimate path should work while rejected requests preserve the commercial evidence.

What your team sees

  • Quote Review Queue — Current priced offers waiting for the reviewer’s decision.
  • Review History — Decisions and reasons tied to their source revision and reviewer.
  • Approved Quotes — Offers ready for the customer’s decision while their validity permits it.
