What you can do
Record what the service actually used
Service Professional records the actual work against the parent booking, including the service description, product lot and consumed units. This close-out record gives Salon Manager a concrete account to review after the appointment. The product lot entry should follow the convention the team uses to identify the material involved in the service.
The record moves from Draft to Submitted for review, then an approved record can be completed through the guarded close-out action. That action freezes the submitted revision and records its outcome without double posting. The team can therefore distinguish prepared service details from the version accepted for completion.
How the work is organized
- Actual-use preparation. Service Professional identifies the booking and records the service performed. Include the product lot and quantity under the unit convention agreed for that service and material.
- Close-out review. Salon Manager reviews the submitted version and decides whether it is suitable for approval. An incomplete or disputed record needs an explained correction before the team proceeds to completion.
- Guarded completion. Service Professional runs the approved close-out through the supported action. The operation receipt provides the outcome needed when reviewing a successful completion or an uncertain response.
What to agree during setup
Agree how service descriptions and product lot entries are written so another person can recognize them. Define what consumed units represent for the material in use. Compare quantities only where the team uses a common unit convention; a quantity recorded for one service may need a different interpretation from another.
Confirm who submits actual use and who independently reviews it. Establish how the decision refers to the correct submitted version and how a rejected submission or Return decision is handled. If product identity or stock balances are maintained in another system, set up the connection and agree the accepted handoff of completed usage. Keep the salon’s original close-out evidence available when that result is used elsewhere.
Check the handoff on an actual case
For a rehearsal, record a color service using 40 units from a sample product lot COLOR-104. Agree that one consumed unit means one milliliter for this service and material. Service Professional explains the 40 mL quantity before submitting it. Salon Manager checks the lot identification and approves that specific submitted version through the agreed decision path.
Complete the approved record and inspect its receipt. Repeat the successful action using the same operation identity. The accepted use must remain 40 mL, without another close-out effect. Then present a separate record whose quantity uses a different convention and resolve that difference before comparing totals. Auditor should be able to identify the approved version and its quantity basis without treating the replay as another service or adding incompatible quantities together.
