Direct-to-consumer brands
A direct-to-consumer team can own the customer promise while a supplier fulfills the product. The order record keeps the promise date and owner. Its lines show the units expected, and supplier routing records show which route was reviewed and acknowledged.
How Dropshipping SCM is set up for you
Customer context
Keep the customer account, contact and address with the order before sending supplier work.
Independent decision
Let an Order Reviewer decide a submitted route with a reason linked to the order revision.
Post-route follow-up
Use product fulfillment events to distinguish allocated, shipped, delivered and returned units.
A direct-to-consumer team can own the customer promise while a supplier fulfills the product. The order record keeps the promise date and owner. Its lines show the units expected, and supplier routing records show which route was reviewed and acknowledged.
Choose one organization and a representative order from a real product range. Enter the customer and product records first, then an order with a promised date and two lines. Rehearse an approved route and a rejected route. For the approved case, add an acknowledgement followed by only part of the shipment. Check who owns the unresolved units and which event will close the customer promise. Add a payment capture and an unverified refund to test evidence review alongside fulfillment follow-up.
At the end of the pilot, have the customer-facing owner explain one delayed order from its promise date through its route and product events. That explanation should point to the same order throughout. Give the Payment Analyst a different case with a duplicate provider event so payment attention does not become a second order action.
