What you can do
At a glance
Put the season, size-color target and required date beside the stock request they explain. Keep the related request, decision and stock evidence together as the case moves between people.
How the work is organized
- Record the operating identity. A seasonal stock plan attaches a seasonal balancing record to an exact stock request and organization. The season and size-color label identify the planning slice. Target units and required date explain the intended quantity and timing. The parent request still identifies the operational item and location, so a plan cannot stand in for a stock movement.
- Keep the control visible. A draft can move to Submitted for review, then to Approved, Rejected or Completed as the team makes its decision and closes the work. Revision and decision time help readers distinguish an earlier target from the latest plan status. The coordinator should keep the parent request aligned with the plan’s organization and delivery window.
- Make the decision traceable. The reviewer should compare the plan’s target with the request’s units and required date. The plan status expresses a planning decision; the request’s own Review and Approved states express the stock decision. Teams should avoid treating one approval as a substitute for the other.
What to agree during setup
Agree how seasons and size-color labels are written, who maintains targets, and what changes force a new revision. Decide whether a single request is used per size-color target and how the team resolves a rejected plan before acting on its parent request.
Use a real size-color SKU and storage location to rehearse the first case. App Administrator should confirm the entity and site codes; Inventory Coordinator and Inventory Reviewer should agree which revision is ready for a decision. Keep that convention available to Auditor when the movement is reconciled.
Check the handoff on an actual case
A spring size-color target calls for units by an early delivery date. The coordinator links the plan to the matching request and submits it. The reviewer finds the requested units exceed the target and returns the operating question to the coordinator. The team corrects the plan and request together. Inventory Reviewer records a decision against the current request revision before the team checks the lot for that request.
At the handoff, compare the current request revision with the reviewer decision and any related lot, claim, receipt or posted movement. If a reference differs, give the case back to Inventory Coordinator with the mismatch named. Keep the earlier decision and effect visible to Auditor.
What your team sees
- Seasonal plans for review — Submitted season and size-color targets waiting for a decision.
- Approved requests — Requests available for the next eligibility check after review.
Open the underlying record before making a decision that depends on revision, expiry, ownership or location. Inventory Reviewer should read the linked request and evidence before recording a reason; Auditor can follow the same references later.
