What you can do

Decision trail

Review Decisions records who decided, which request revision was considered, the decision, reason, time and operation key. Record Attachments holds supporting files with an evidence type and visibility choice. Operation Receipts records the guarded action, expected revision and result state. Together they let the Inventory Reviewer and Auditor trace a request from submitted scope to a recorded result.

How the work is organized

  • Ownership. Inventory Reviewer and Auditor handle the decisions and records in this area; keep the named owner visible on each request.
  • References. Follow the organization, item, location and parent request links when checking related work.
  • Evidence. Read the current status and revision together with the related decision or effect before a handoff.

Evidence stays attached to the request even when a plan is rejected or a movement later needs correction. The decision reason should explain what was accepted or returned, rather than repeat the status word. During setup, rehearse a successful plan approval and an exception with a failed receipt. Capture who can read shared attachments and who can see internal ones, then check access using real team accounts.

What to agree during setup

Agree what reason text a reviewer must enter for approval, rejection or return. Define when an attachment is Internal or Shared and who may read each. Decide how an operation with Failed or needs review result state is assigned for follow-up. Staff should use the operation key and effect references to locate the action under discussion, especially if a command was retried.

Check the handoff on an actual case

Take a submitted put-away plan and inspect the parent request revision. The Inventory Reviewer makes the decision and confirms that the Review Decision identifies the same source revision. Open the Operation Receipt and compare its expected revision and result with the recorded effects. If the result needs review, inspect the failure reason and any attachments before deciding what follow-up is needed. The Auditor can follow the same chain without changing operational records.

What your team sees

  • Operations needing review — Find failed outcomes and their reasons.
  • Review decision history — Trace each decision to a revision and reviewer.
  • Shared request evidence — Read the supporting material for a request.

Follow the work through

Follow the operating process and implementation steps with a real request. Confirm that the item, location and organization references still point to the intended records after each handoff. Use the data model when preparing migration mappings, and bring the team’s actual codes and review authority to the rehearsal.
