What you can do

Establish the amount before accepting the sale

Commerce Operator prepares a Draft order for the eligible customer and organization. The order identifies its owner, date and channel. Its lines carry the SKU, quantity, unit price, discount and tax amounts used to establish the sale’s net USD amount.

Acceptance checks the operator’s authority and the current version along with line quantities and discount eligibility. The order becomes Accepted with the agreed net amount. The payment request then follows its provider process, and verified capture evidence establishes the collected outcome. An accepted order and a captured payment remain distinct facts during the operating review.

How the work is organized

  • Line preparation. Keep the SKU and quantity clear on each line. Review the unit price and any discount or tax amount before relying on the order total. The line belongs to the order being accepted.
  • Guarded acceptance. Commerce Operator acts on the current order version within the authenticated organization. Changed quantities or pricing need to be considered before the acceptance action uses them.
  • Outcome evidence. The order retains its net amount and later payment context. Follow the provider evidence and action receipt when checking whether the requested financial effect has actually been confirmed.

What to agree during setup

Agree quantity rules and the discount policy used for acceptance. Define how line discount and tax amounts contribute to the net total, and rehearse those calculations with the people maintaining the product catalog. The recorded values use USD; a different organization currency setting needs an explicit external conversion arrangement if the business requires one.

Set the payment-provider connection and agree who investigates an uncertain result. The owner should be able to identify the order and action when asking Commerce Reviewer for help. Decide how changes after acceptance are requested so the team preserves the original execution evidence.

Check the handoff on an actual case

A customer selects a jacket and the operator prepares its sales line with a quantity and price. A proposed discount needs to meet the agreed policy before the order is accepted. Commerce Operator reviews the current line and order amount, then follows the accepted sale to the provider result.

Rehearse a quantity change while the order is being reviewed. The action must use the expected current version rather than accepting an earlier amount unnoticed. Next, test a discount outside the permitted scope and resolve it before repeating acceptance.

After a valid acceptance, inspect the provider evidence. An authorization by itself does not establish captured cash. Follow the verified capture and its reference before treating payment as collected. If the response is uncertain, ask Commerce Reviewer to reconcile the retained outcome before another payment action is attempted.

What your team sees

  • Sales Order Board — Draft, accepted and refund-review orders show their customer, owner and net amount.
  • Sale Acceptance Queue — Draft orders provide the context for the operator’s acceptance checks.
  • Verified Payment Evidence — Confirmed provider events distinguish authorization, capture, refund and void outcomes.
