Systems to connect
- Meter-reading sources. Configure an import or connection from the customer’s meter source with a stable meter identity, reading mode and unit. Agree how resets and source-quality information reach the review process.
- Building monitoring sources. Connect sensor submissions where required, preserving the sensor identity, metric, unit and observation date. Map the operating context before allowing a source to write records.
- Utility rate sources. Bring effective rate records into the site’s tariff context through an agreed source process. Check unit interpretation and period changes before the energy team relies on them.
- People and identity systems. Map operating accounts to the people assigned site work. Coordinate changes to account access and the active-responder convention.
- Finance or facilities systems. Configure any required downstream connection separately, with an agreed record identity and permitted update direction. Keep its results distinguishable from the energy and event records used here.
How connections are governed
Name the source owner and define the matching rule before enabling a connection. Rehearse a valid record and an invalid reference using the operating accounts. Open the saved record and confirm that the reading or observation belongs to the intended meter or sensor.
Agree the handling of repeated submissions, corrections and partial failures with the source owner. A successful-looking import response should not conceal rejected or missing evidence. Energy acceptance and event resolution remain with the designated operating roles. Include these decisions in the implementation plan.
