How a Smart Building Management rollout works

Rehearse a building's source readings, energy review and assigned event response before expanding the portfolio.

  1. Choose the pilot site

Select a facility whose meter and operating context the team understands. Confirm site naming, timezone and the physical source identifiers before preparing records.

  2. Map people and authority

Name the Facilities Manager, Energy Analyst, Energy Reviewer and responders. Have Admin verify account mappings and the active-person convention. Agree the task approval and completion policy separately from event resolution.

  3. Prepare energy evidence

Register the meter with its unit and reading mode, then capture source values and quality. Configure reset handling and interval-boundary rules. Rehearse a reviewer acceptance and a rejection before using quantities in reports.

  4. Prepare the site response

Record an event, acknowledge its actual start and assign an active responder. Register a relevant sensor against its operating context and capture an observation. Check the saved sensor and observation against the selected event, and review missing or invalid evidence.

  5. Review the complete cycle

Complete the assigned task under its policy and separately resolve the event with the actual end. Inspect the tariff periods and accepted energy information. Confirm site scope and operating access before expanding to other buildings.

What the customer provides

Bring recognized site and meter identities, timezone values and the source reading practice. Provide the reset-handling context, quality conventions and effective rate records used by the energy team. Identify the people authorized to validate intervals and manage events.

Choose an actual building condition and a sensor observation suitable for rehearsal. Confirm the active responders and the policy for their assigned work. Identify any external source needing a connection, with its owner and permitted direction.

Changing it afterwards

Review changes to meter modes, units, sensor identities and interval rules before applying them to existing evidence. Keep the source context understandable when correcting a record or replacing equipment. Rehearse changed access and task policies with the affected roles. Use the data model and roles page to assess the effect on the operating history.
