What you can do
Accept the interval on its evidence
Energy Reviewer examines an energy interval’s meter, start and end, quantity and unit before deciding whether it is suitable for the team’s energy review. Received, Validated and Rejected distinguish the interval’s decision state. The original meter readings and quality flags provide the source context for that decision.
Tariff records retain a rate per unit for a site and effective period. Energy Analyst maintains those records so the team can inspect the rate context alongside accepted consumption. The interval decision and the tariff-period review have different purposes and should remain understandable as separate parts of the operating discussion.
How the work is organized
- Interval review. Energy Reviewer checks the selected meter and covered period against the reading evidence. A valid-looking quantity needs the correct unit and non-overlapping boundaries before it is accepted.
- Decision state. The reviewer accepts eligible intervals as Validated or marks unsuitable intervals Rejected through the agreed review action. The team can distinguish received work from quantities ready for reporting.
- Tariff context. Energy Analyst records effective dates, rate per unit and unit against the site. The dates and unit help the reviewer identify which rate record is relevant to the period being discussed.
What to agree during setup
Name the person who may validate energy intervals and configure the review authority. Agree the evidence needed for reset handling, estimated readings and boundary checks. Decide how a rejected interval is corrected or replaced while retaining a clear account of the source period used for subsequent review.
Define the tariff-period convention and how the team investigates gaps or overlapping rate records. Confirm the unit basis and the meaning of the recorded rate with the source owner. If the team connects a billing or finance system, agree that connection separately and keep its decisions traceable to the reviewed site and period.
Check the handoff on an actual case
Take the derived consumption interval for the pilot building’s electricity meter. Energy Reviewer inspects the meter reading evidence and verifies the period and unit. Accept the eligible interval, then open Validated Energy Intervals to confirm the state and quantity retained for that meter.
Prepare another interval with an unresolved source or boundary issue. The reviewer should keep it out of the accepted set and explain what must be corrected before it can be used. Rehearse the agreed correction path so the team does not accidentally count both an earlier rejected attempt and its replacement as accepted consumption.
Next, have Energy Analyst show the tariff record whose dates cover the period under discussion. Check the site, unit and rate together. Include a rate change within a wider reporting period and ask the team to identify the separate effective windows before interpreting the result. This keeps the discussion anchored to the actual rate records rather than an assumed constant rate.
What your team sees
- Energy Review Queue — Received intervals awaiting the validation decision.
- Validated Energy Intervals — Accepted periods and quantities by meter and unit.
- Current Tariff Periods — Site rate records whose effective dates cover today.
Follow the work through
