What you can do
Record the creator contribution against the deal
A creator attribution stores the creator name, attribution date, attributed order quantity and order reference. Each attribution belongs to a parent opportunity and organization. An account can be linked when the attribution concerns a particular partner. The owner is a team member who can answer questions about the record. The record also has a revision and a review status, so a correction can be distinguished from the first submission.
Creator Coordinator drafts the attribution after the drop and checks the order reference and attributed quantity. The coordinator marks it Submitted for a separate decision. Attribution Reviewer records a decision with a reason and a source revision. Attachments can link to the attribution for supporting evidence. The record has Draft, Submitted, Approved, Rejected and Completed statuses. The team should reserve Completed for its agreed completion point and confirm that the recorded decision matches the displayed status.
How the work is organized
- Named owner. Creator Coordinator prepares the record. Attribution Reviewer makes the independent decision. Partner Manager follows its effect on the opportunity.
- Linked record. Keep the work tied to its parent opportunity and organization so a later reviewer can follow the case.
- Review trail. Match the decision to the submitted revision and keep its reason beside the supporting attachment.
What to agree during setup
Agree the meaning of attributed orders, which source supplies the order reference and who resolves a disputed count. Ask the coordinator to keep the same parent opportunity when the count is corrected, so the commercial owner can compare both revisions. Decide who updates the attribution status after the reviewer has recorded a decision. Decide what evidence belongs in a record attachment and when the coordinator should submit a revision. Set a policy for a rejected attribution, including whether a corrected revision is submitted under the same parent opportunity.
Check the handoff on an actual case
For a live drop, a coordinator records the creator, post date, order reference and attributed orders against the partner opportunity. A supporting receipt link is attached. The reviewer compares that revision with the evidence and records Approve or Reject with a reason. If the count changes, the coordinator updates the attribution revision and asks for a new decision. The team can still see the original opportunity and the review history together. Before marking the attribution Completed, the coordinator checks that its final status and latest decision refer to the same revision.
