What you can do
Two ways guests commit to the spa
Members join with a name, member number, email, join date and status of Active, Paused, Expired or Closed. A membership plan sets price, session allowance and validity in days, such as a monthly wellness membership with two treatments. Each purchase starts a member plan with its own dates and status.
A treatment package is a prepaid bundle: a package name, the sessions purchased, the sessions used so far and an expiry date, held by one member. Used sessions can never exceed sessions purchased, and impossible dates are refused when a package is recorded.
How the work is organized
- Plans for regulars. Membership plans suit guests who visit every month.
- Packages for courses. A six-massage package suits a course of treatment or a gift.
- Balances in view. Purchased against used sessions shows what each member has left.
What to agree during setup
List the plans and packages you sell, with prices, allowances and expiry rules. Decide whether package sessions can be shared within a household. Agree how expiring packages are handled: extension, partial credit or lapse. Prepare an import of current members, plans and package balances.
Check the handoff on an actual case
A guest buys a package of six massages valid for six months. The front desk records it with six purchased and none used. After each treatment the used sessions rise by one. After her fourth massage she asks to use the package for a friend; the spa’s policy says packages are personal, so the desk books the friend separately.
With a month to go and two sessions left, the package appears on the expiry list. The desk calls her, and she books both before the expiry date. A seventh use would be refused because it would exceed the six purchased.
