How a Supply Chain rollout works
Start with one warehouse and its top products for one month your planners, buyers and warehouse can reconcile together.
Agree the operating boundary
The app runs planning, purchasing, receiving, quality, inventory, counts, shipping and returns. Payables, the ledger, carrier labels and rating, supplier EDI and statistical forecasting remain connected systems. Your managers approve orders, receipts and adjustments; Proto prepares information and configuration for review.
Map the source data
Gather products and item masters, suppliers and customers, warehouses and bins, opening stock by lot, open orders and the current forecast.
Configure a bounded pilot
Pilot one warehouse and its top products for one month. Run planning, ordering, receiving, counting and shipping through the app.
Rehearse the exceptions
An order above the buyer's limit must wait for approval. Goods must not be put away before inspection. A large count variance must wait for review. An invoice for rejected goods must stay at Variance.
Reconcile and release
Compare stock, open orders and invoices with your current system. Obtain sign-off from each team lead, keep an export of the source and agree the rollback window before cutover.
What the customer provides
- Products, item master attributes, categories and units of measure.
- Suppliers and customers with tiers, terms and contracts.
- Warehouses, bins and opening stock by lot.
- Open purchase orders, transfers and shipments, and the current forecast.
Changing it afterwards
Use Proto to prepare changes on a branch. Review the changed fields, affected permissions, import mappings and reports with their owners. Replay the pilot’s exception cases before release. Locked forecast versions and posted movements keep their original values.
