Who it's for

Internal operations

An internal operations group often has many small tasks competing for the same handlers. Task Queue Management gives the group a queue for each incoming work item, an owner selected through an effective rule and task outcomes that can be inspected without reconstructing the whole day from messages. Queue status board and Queue Operations Overview help a manager see which queues have started, which remain assigned and where SLA exposure is building.

How Task Queue Management is set up for you

Daily order

Compare arrival date, priority and SLA due date before choosing the next queue. Check open task count to understand the remaining work.

Ownership

Keep a named person on the queue and an assignment reason for the handoff. The rule carries the organization's policy reference.

Independent decision

Have a reviewer record approval, return or rejection on the relevant revision with a reason.

Recovery

Use an action for receipt follow-up and a successor revision with a compensating task when an executed result needs correction.

Queue status board and Queue Operations Overview help a manager see which queues have started, which remain assigned and where SLA exposure is building.

Pilot one department's queue type with a known source record ID and a few tasks per queue. Agree priority and SLA date rules before moving live work in. Rehearse an assignment under an effective policy, an approval by a separate reviewer and a completed task whose effects are verified. Then run a failed attempt and make sure the analyst can distinguish a provider failure from a rejected task outcome.

The department should be able to show why a queue was assigned, what evidence was checked and how a later correction was approved. Start with [the task completion process](/task-queue-management/processes/task-completion-and-receipts) and carry its observed cases into rollout review.
