What you can do
Apply every repayment the same way
Repayments arrive from the provider with an amount, a date, a provider event ID and verification. Each is imported once. The Loan Servicing Officer allocates it to the installments that are due, by principal first, then interest, then fees, never beyond the amount received or the amount still owed. Each allocation records the principal, interest and fee applied and the date.
An allocation made in error is reversed by recording its reversal date. It is never deleted, so the history of every receipt stays complete.
How the work is organized
- One import per provider event. A repeated notification does not create a second repayment.
- Fixed allocation order. Principal, then interest, then fees, within what was received and what is due.
- Approved changes, new versions. A reschedule, rate change, write-off or correction is approved independently and creates a new schedule version; the earlier version stays.
What to agree during setup
Agree the allocation order with your credit policy and confirm it matches the one used here. Decide which servicing changes need approval and who prepares them. Agree how reversals are authorized and how delinquency is defined.
Check the handoff on an actual case
The exporter pays $105,000 on the first due date. The Loan Servicing Officer imports the verified repayment and allocates it to installment 1: principal first, then interest, then the fee. The receipt covers the installment in full.
Three months later a shipment is delayed and the exporter asks to defer two installments. The servicing officer prepares a reschedule with the effective date and reason. The Credit Approver approves it, a new schedule version is created, and the change records the prior version number. Earlier allocations still point to version 1 installments, so the history reads correctly.
