Contracted carrier networks
A freight coordination team using contracted carriers needs to follow what was offered, what the carrier accepted and how the movement was billed. Transport Management supports recorded modes including parcel, truckload and intermodal freight. It stores the agreements and event evidence the planner and audit team use to explain each freight movement. Choose the carrier exchange and tracking connections during setup, then confirm that the corresponding carrier response and movement event reach the same shipment.
How Transport Management is set up for you
Connect service to agreement
Carrier records and carrier service records retain carrier identity and service modes. Rate agreements and lane records define the relevant term and movement context. Transportation Planner inspects the rate-shop result before using it in an offer.
Retain each response
Tendering keeps tender round, response and response time with the carrier and shipment. Dispatcher/Ops follows a rejection or counteroffer through the next business decision without deleting the earlier attempt. The carrier's Accepted response is separate from the actual pickup event.
Check provider evidence
Tracking provider records identify the chosen source and authentication method, while tracking events retain the reported milestone. Connection credentials and event mapping need verification with the provider. Test the chosen tracking connection with a controlled shipment and compare the received event with the carrier's original report.
Review carrier cost differences
Freight audit results link the invoice line to the expected charge and reason code. Dispute records retain carrier responses and an evidenced recovery. Logistics Manager can use the freight reporting questions to examine freight outcomes, with currency and incomplete evidence kept visible.

Choose a lane and service with a rate sheet that the planner and audit team can both explain. Rehearse an accepted tender, a no capacity rejection and an out-of-order tracking event. Compare the corresponding message and movement records before inviting external carrier users.
Agree the external carrier access arrangement before inviting contacts. Rehearse a carrier account against the intended tender and another carrier's work, then confirm the arrangement with Logistics Manager. Test tender transport and the accounts-payable acknowledgment separately from internal statuses.
