What you can do

Decide on the submitted trip

Trip Review Specialist records the destination, departure date, premium and carrier quote on a review linked to its policy and organization. Submission gives Offer Reviewer a specific revision to consider. The reviewer checks the parent policy and its coverage terms, then records a decision, reason, reviewer and source revision. This keeps the offer decision attached to the policy rather than leaving it in an email thread.

The quoted premium and the policy premium may be examined together before the decision. A change to travel details calls for another look at the carrier quote. The review status distinguishes draft work from a submitted offer and from a completed decision. Operation receipts retain the key, expected revision, action, result and any external reference for an attempted carrier operation. An unsuccessful result belongs in the same operating picture so the team can investigate it before accepting another outcome.

How the work is organized

  • Trip review. Trip Review Specialist prepares destination, departure, premium and quote under the correct parent policy.
  • Human decision. Offer Reviewer examines the submitted revision and records an approve, reject or return decision with a reason.
  • Operation result. Admin or Offer Reviewer checks receipts that failed or need review before treating a carrier action as complete.

What to agree during setup

Agree who may submit a review and who may make the offer decision. Decide how the team verifies a carrier quote and how long an offer may remain usable before a fresh confirmation is needed. The review’s revision and the policy’s revision must be visible at the handoff. If the parent policy changes after submission, the reviewer should require a new check against the updated terms.

Set a procedure for failed operation receipts: identify the attempted action by its key, compare the expected revision, and decide whether to retry or escalate. A repeated request with the same key should be investigated before any further effect is recorded. Keep the review reason clear enough that Policy Operations can tell what to correct when an offer is returned.

Check the handoff on an actual case

A traveler changes destination after a draft offer is prepared. Trip Review Specialist updates the trip review and obtains a carrier quote for the new destination, then submits the current revision. Offer Reviewer checks the policy, coverage lines and quoted premium. The reviewer records an approval only for that revision and explains the decision. If the carrier action produces a receipt marked for review, the team inspects it before Policy Operations records issue details.

A second case should use a missing or outdated quote. The reviewer returns the submission with a reason. Trip Review Specialist corrects the quote and submits again. The earlier review decision remains useful context; the new decision belongs to the updated revision. This exercise makes the difference between a correction and an approved offer visible to both teams.

What your team sees

  • Submitted trip reviews — Offer Reviewer sees submitted destinations, departure dates, quotes and revisions awaiting a decision.
  • Failed operations — Admin sees the action and failure reason on carrier operations needing follow-up.
