What you can do
Show what was measured, where it came from and who can see it
A spray decision is only as good as the measurements behind it. Each field operation carries agronomy evidence lines: what was measured, when, the value, the unit, where the figure came from and a quality flag. Trap counts, soil moisture, leaf wetness, applied rate and water volume can all be recorded this way. Lines are numbered and carry the revision of the operation they belong to.
Files sit beside the lines. A scouting photo, a product label, a sprayer calibration sheet or the grower’s signed record is attached to the operation with a title, an evidence type, the upload date and the team member who uploaded it. Each file is marked Internal for the advisory team or Shared for the grower.
How the work is organized
- Numbered evidence lines. Each line has a number and the operation’s revision, so the reviewer can see which measurements existed when they decided.
- Source and quality on every line. The source reference names the trap, probe or sprayer log. The quality flag marks a reading as good, estimated or suspect.
- Internal or shared files. Internal files stay with the team. Shared files are the ones the grower may see.
What to agree during setup
Agree a list of evidence types and their units, such as moths per trap and percent soil moisture. Agree the quality flag wording and what a suspect reading means for the decision. Agree how source references are written, for example the trap ID or the probe serial. Decide which files are always Shared with the grower and which stay Internal, such as reviewer notes. Agree that evidence is added as new lines, never by overwriting an old value.
Check the handoff on an actual case
A farm coordinator checks codling moth traps on an orchard block on June 3. She adds three evidence lines: trap T-07 with 9 moths, trap T-08 with 12 moths and trap T-09 with 2 moths, each with the trap as source and the flag “good”. Trap T-09 had a torn liner, so she flags that line “suspect” and attaches a photo of the trap marked Internal.
The reviewer reads the lines, sees the suspect reading, and bases the decision on the two good traps. After the spray, the coordinator adds the measured application rate as a new line and attaches the sprayer log as a Shared file for the grower.
What your team sees
- Agronomy Evidence Lines — Every measured line with operation, revision, type, value, unit, source and quality flag.
- Shared Attachments — Files marked Shared for the grower, with title, type, upload date and uploader.
Follow the work through
- Authorized work to completion: Complete the work with the evidence that proves it.
- Weather observation to reviewed advisory: Check readings against the evidence lines.
