What you can do
Plan the work the weather has to allow
A field operation is a piece of planned work on a client farm: a fungicide spray on a vineyard block, an insecticide pass against codling moth, a pest intervention in a pasture. The Operations Planner records the subject, the farm, the crop or animal, the planned date, the planned quantity and its unit. The planner owns the operation from first draft to the end.
Each operation moves through Draft, Planned, Review, Authorized and Completed, or ends as Cancelled. Work that needs a professional’s sign-off goes to Review before anyone acts on it. Every saved change raises the revision number, so a reviewer’s decision always refers to the exact version they read. The Operations Overview page brings open operations, recent review decisions, agronomy evidence and operation receipts into one command view for the team.
How the work is organized
- Draft and plan. The planner prepares the operation and its supporting evidence, then moves it to Planned, or to Review when a professional must decide first.
- Authorize one revision. A reviewer who did not prepare the plan approves the exact revision. A later change to quantity or date creates a new revision that needs a new decision.
- Complete or cancel. The farm coordinator completes authorized work with its evidence and completion date. Unexecuted work is cancelled; nothing is deleted.
What to agree during setup
Agree which operations always need professional review, for example any restricted-use product or any work on a farm flagged in its eligibility note. Agree a short list of units, such as gallons per acre and pounds per acre, and use them consistently. Agree how subjects are written so the board reads well: product or target, then block. Decide how far ahead operations are planned and who may move a planned date. Agree what goes in the professional review note.
Check the handoff on an actual case
A planner schedules a fungicide spray on a vineyard block for May 14, 25 gallons per acre, and sends it to Review because the product needs a licensed adviser’s sign-off. The Domain Reviewer approves revision 3 and the operation becomes Authorized. On May 12 the planner changes the planned date to May 15 after a wet forecast. The revision moves to 4, and the operation needs a fresh decision before the farm coordinator acts on it.
The reviewer approves revision 4. On May 15 the farm coordinator completes the spray, records the completion date and adds evidence lines for the measured rate. If the block had been flooded instead, the planner would have cancelled the unexecuted operation and opened a new one for a later date.
What your team sees
- Field Operations Board — Open operations grouped by Draft, Planned, Review and Authorized, with farm, owner and revision on each card.
- Spray Schedule — Planned and authorized operations by planned date, with quantity and unit.
- My Field Operations — The signed-in planner’s own operations and where each one stands.
Follow the work through
- Field plan to authorization: Prepare the plan and take one revision through review.
- Authorized work to completion: Complete the work with measured evidence.
- Correction and cancellation: Change or stop work without losing its history.
Plan the rollout with your planners and reviewers.
