Manufacturing site yards
A manufacturing site needs arriving material trailers and departing finished goods to use the yard without losing their warehouse context. The operating team can keep the load, trailer and dock decision together while stock requests retain the item and authorized quantity. Production planning remains a connection to the system that owns it.
How Yard Management System is set up for you
Identify the physical visit
Inventory Clerk records the arriving trailer and its parking slot against the intended load. A repeated carrier visit should still be matched to the correct load number and actual arrival.
Check the equipment
Review the required equipment class against vehicle readiness and assignment intervals. An open Critical defect or an expired driver eligibility date needs resolution before dispatch.
Review changed material scope
Inventory Supervisor authorizes a quantity correction and checks the affected reservation release. Keep already posted warehouse evidence available when explaining what remains to be handled.
Preserve delivery commitments
Retain the promised delivery time for a finished-goods load and collect actual stop and recipient evidence. A delayed departure should remain explainable in the later comparison.

Choose a receiving area and an outbound dispatch period that the site team can observe directly. Prepare stable item codes, location references and the vehicle records used by those shifts. Include a trailer that waits for a door and a vehicle that becomes unavailable before pickup.
As a worked case, a material load arrives while its intended door is busy. Inventory Clerk records the parking position, Transport Supervisor reviews the submitted instruction, and Inventory Supervisor separately checks the authorized stock quantity. The yard decision should never be used to infer that production consumed the material or that a warehouse posting occurred. Reconcile the actual handoff before expanding the pilot to another operating area.
