What you can do

Give the reviewer a production record they can follow

A production interval records the operator, work order, start, end and output quantities. The Production Operator enters good and scrap units against the work that was performed. The linked personnel record identifies the operator through their platform user, which keeps the production history attributable when staff share the same printer over a shift.

When an operator ends an interval, the production workflow checks its time span and unit counts and saves the linked evidence. If the work order is Released or in progress, the workflow moves it to quality review. The reviewer can then inspect what was produced and how the operator recorded the work.

How the work is organized

  • Operator identity. Maintain the link between shop personnel and platform users. The operator should recognize their own intervals before recording output. Resolve identity mismatches during setup so another person’s name is not carried into the production history.
  • Interval evidence. Record the actual start and end with good and scrap quantities. Use the work-order link to keep the output attached to the correct part and customer demand. Review suspicious spans or quantities before relying on the result.
  • Review routing. End the interval through the production action. Eligible work moves into quality review, where the Quality Reviewer examines the evidence with the planner. Material movement remains attached to its own issue posting.

What to agree during setup

Agree whether an interval represents an operator’s attended work, a complete run or another consistently used segment of production. Keep that interpretation stable when comparing output. If people can work on several printers at once, explain overlapping intervals before using total interval duration in a staffing discussion.

Decide when to end an interval during a partially completed job. Ending an interval can put eligible work into quality review, so the reviewer and planner need a shared understanding of what remains. Define how the planner handles further work after review and what evidence must be checked before the overall job becomes Completed.

Check the handoff on an actual case

An operator records a morning interval for the clip work order with 22 good units and 2 scrap units. The operator checks the time span and ends the interval. The linked work order moves from in progress to quality review, and the reviewer can compare the output with the planned quantity and finishing evidence.

In the rehearsal, try an interval whose end precedes its start and verify that it is rejected. Correct the interval and confirm that the saved record retains the correct operator and work-order links. Check the material balance separately: ending the production interval should leave it unchanged. This gives the team a concrete way to distinguish output evidence from the material transaction they already posted.

What your team sees

  • My production intervals — Operator-linked intervals with start, end, good units and scrap units together.
  • Quality review queue — Work orders waiting for the reviewer to examine production and finishing evidence.
  • Business Overview — The work-order portfolio by state, accompanied by the newest production evidence.

Follow the work through

Use printing, finishing and review and compare material effects through material posting and reversal.
