What you can do

Bring the observation back to its field

Agronomist records scouting evidence with the date, evidence type, measured value and unit. Notes give the team the context needed to interpret the observation. Every entry refers to a field, allowing Farm Manager to review what was observed on that plot alongside its crop activity.

Input application records describe a separate event: what was applied, when it was applied and who applied it. The quantity and unit sit beside the input name and field reference. Field Operator records the applicator through the team member reference so the review can reach the named person responsible for the work.

How the work is organized

  • Scouting history. Use the observation date and evidence type to find the reading under discussion. A measured value without a clear unit is difficult to compare, so agree the wording used for repeated observations.
  • Application history. Keep input name, application date and quantity with the field and applicator. Review those facts before discussing how the work relates to a later observation.
  • Contextual review. Farm Manager and Agronomist compare the dated evidence with crop activity on that field. Stock Controller follows task-linked usage for the lot-consumption question, while application history describes the recorded field activity.

What to agree during setup

Agree the evidence types and unit wording the team will use. Both are entered as text, so consistent terms make later comparison useful. Decide how much detail belongs in notes and how the observer should identify unusual conditions that may affect a reading.

Define who records an application and how the applicator is selected. Keep the team member linked to the correct authenticated account. Agree the relationship between a field application entry and task input usage so the same event is not counted twice in an operating total. When reviewing successive crop cycles on the same field, use the relevant dates to select the evidence for discussion.

Check the handoff on an actual case

Agronomist records a soil observation on a named field with its measurement unit and a note about the conditions. A Field Operator records an input application on that field on a later date. Farm Manager can review the sequence and ask the responsible people about the work without treating the order of events as proof of a result.

Repeat the observation using a different unit and make the difference explicit in the review. The team should resolve whether the readings can be compared before combining them. If the application was entered against a neighboring field, correct that reference before it becomes part of this plot’s history.

Use a harvest estimate in the notes as another rehearsal. It can help the team plan the next check, but the accepted delivery quantity must come from the harvest record reviewed by Harvest Reviewer. Keep the observation and the accepted quantity distinct when preparing the cycle close discussion.

What your team sees

  • Scouting Evidence — Dated observations show measured values, units and the notes needed to interpret them.
  • Field Application History — Applications show the input, quantity and named applicator for each field.
  • Task Input Usage — Lot-linked usage supports a separate review of stock consumption.
