What you can do

Make the work decision specific

Farm Manager plans a field task for a named crop cycle and assigns it to a team member. The task type distinguishes Planting, Irrigation, Feeding, Inspection and Harvest. Its due date tells the operator when the work needs attention, while its status shows whether it is still planned or has been approved to proceed.

Approval starts the execution handoff. The field and cycle need to be in the allowed operating states, and the operator needs a valid authenticated identity. For work consuming an input, the chosen lot must meet the quantity, expiry and unit checks agreed for execution. The operator then follows the assigned work through completion.

How the work is organized

  • Preparation. A Planned task identifies the field, cycle and assigned person. Farm Manager checks those references before approval so an operator does not arrive with instructions for the wrong crop or plot.
  • Authorization. Farm Manager approves the task to proceed. Review the operating state and any required input lot before the execution handoff, including whether the requested quantity is available in the matching unit.
  • Completion. Approved work progresses to In progress and then Completed as the activity is carried out. Record the completion date with the task. Cancelled distinguishes work the manager has decided will not proceed.

What to agree during setup

Agree which field and crop stages allow each task to run. A crop already at harvest may need different work from a newly planted cycle. Decide who can approve a task and who can record execution or completion. Link each operator’s team record to the account they actually use.

Set the way input selection and requested quantity reach the execution process. Stock Controller should be able to review the lot before it is consumed. Agree how the team handles an expired lot or insufficient quantity and who reschedules the work when the original plan cannot proceed. Use the same unit vocabulary in the stock record and work request.

Check the handoff on an actual case

Plan a feeding task for an active crop cycle and assign it to a Field Operator. Farm Manager checks the field and cycle, then Stock Controller checks the selected input lot and available quantity. Once approved, the work carries its original references into execution and the resulting usage record.

Repeat the case with a lot that has passed its expiry date. The crew needs a valid replacement or a revised plan before the work continues. Next, use an operator whose account is not correctly linked to the team record and resolve that identity before accepting the execution.

After the valid task is carried out, record completion and review its date in the work list. If the same approval is delivered again, check the resulting usage with Stock Controller so the task has not consumed the input twice.

What your team sees

  • Field Work Approval — Planned tasks show the field, cycle and assigned person for Farm Manager’s decision.
  • My Field Work — The signed-in operator can follow assigned tasks and their due dates.
  • Work in Progress — Approved and active work stays visible until the completion handoff.
