Grains and pulses
Grain and pulse brokers work at volume and at thin rates. A desk may arrange wheat, maize, chana and tur deals every day between stockists, traders and producer organisations on one side and flour mills, dal mills, feed makers and wholesalers on the other. Brokerage is usually an amount per metric ton, and each large mill has negotiated its own figure, often with a minimum for small lots.
How Agro Commodity Brokerage is set up for you
Per-MT rate cards
Hold each mill’s and trader’s rate by side and commodity, with a minimum per deal for small lots.
Commission on every deal
Seller and buyer lines appear as soon as a deal is booked, priced from each party’s card.
Invoiced on delivery
Lines are invoiced when the deal is delivered, due after each client’s credit days.
Mandi comparison
Deal rates per MT sit beside the modal prices recorded at the APMC yards the desk follows.
Season trends
Commission by commodity month by month across the arrival season.
Start with the two or three commodities the desk trades most. Load the active mills and traders with their current rate cards and credit days, a month of mandi prices for the main grades and the deals in progress. Rehearse a deal through delivery and payment for one mill and one trader, and compare the commission on each line with what the old program charged.
Agree whether each mill pays on the seller side, the buyer side or both before activating its cards, since that decides which lines it is charged on.
