What you can do

Check the coverage used for the maintenance decision

A warranty record identifies the coverage type, validity window and issuer against a maintenance ticket. Maintenance Approver reviews that record before authorizing eligible work. Approved coverage must span today for the maintenance authorization command to proceed, so a familiar warranty description is insufficient if its dates no longer cover the decision.

Accepted service leaves a certificate record linked to both the asset and maintenance ticket. The performed date, recorded result and next due date give Asset Manager a way to review what was accepted for the equipment. The team can trace that outcome back to the work log and the ticket that produced it.

How the work is organized

  • Coverage preparation. Maintenance Approver maintains the warranty type and dates with the issuer and ticket reference. Requested, Approved, Expired and Closed distinguish the record’s lifecycle under the team’s agreed coverage process.
  • Eligibility check. The maintenance authorization and warranty-control actions verify the ticket, its asset and approved coverage spanning today. This check ties the decision to the equipment being serviced through the linked ticket.
  • Accepted history. Inspection acceptance creates the service certificate entry for the completed maintenance. Asset Manager reviews the result and dates against the same asset and ticket before relying on the history for later planning.

What to agree during setup

Name the person who may approve coverage and agree how the issuer is selected from the employee directory. Define how the team enters validity dates and handles coverage that expires before planned work can be authorized. Check the date-boundary behavior using the actual operating timezone during rehearsal.

Agree how the service result is described and what the next due date means for the equipment. Keep that outcome specific to the work inspected. Maintenance Planner should review the preventive plan after acceptance using the recorded service evidence, with clear responsibility for maintaining the next planned service date.

Check the handoff on an actual case

Prepare a maintenance ticket for a tagged compressor and link an Approved warranty record whose dates cover the current day. Maintenance Approver confirms the coverage type and issuer, then authorizes the ticket. Repeat the eligibility check with an expired record and confirm that the same path cannot proceed using that coverage.

After the Technician completes the repair, accept its inspection and open the resulting service certificate. Check that the asset and ticket links point to the compressor that was actually serviced. Review the recorded result, performed date and next due date with Asset Manager and Maintenance Planner.

Also rehearse a warranty record linked to another ticket. The team must identify the mismatch before relying on its dates to authorize work. A valid interval on unrelated coverage does not explain the decision for this asset. Finish by tracing an older accepted service entry back to its original ticket so the history remains useful after the people involved have moved to other work.

What your team sees

  • Active Warranty Records — Approved coverage whose start and end dates span today.
  • Warranty Approval Queue — Requested coverage waiting for the agreed approval decision.
  • Service History Register — Service outcomes with their asset, ticket and next due date.
