Proto helps prepare the work

Ask Proto to prepare attendance and leave work for human review.

It can

  • Employee: Show my weekly timesheets and identify a submitted leave request waiting for a decision.
  • HR Business Partner: Compare a dated leave balance with an employee's request and show the assigned approver.
  • Payroll Admin: List approved weekly hours and leave that overlap the next pay period, then prepare a reconciliation of run totals and statements.
  • Admin: Explain which configured role can enter, read or review a particular source record.

Stays with a person

  • Proto can prepare records and explanations, but the named person makes an approval.
  • Payroll release depends on the organization's review of source time, leave, statement lines and actual payment outcome.
  • Changes to employee status or effective dates also need their authorized owner.

Implementation

Roll out one team at a time

Start with one team and one process, then add the rest once the basics are running.

  1. Agree ownership

Name the HR owner, timesheet and leave approvers, payroll preparer and payroll reviewer.

  2. Load reference records

Set up departments, positions, locations, people, leave types and payroll calendars with effective dates.

  3. Run a sample week

Enter daily hours, submit the weekly header, and decide an ordinary and a corrected case.

  4. Run a leave case

Submit a dated request, review the balance, record a decision and inspect the balance position.

  5. Rehearse payroll

Prepare a test period using approved inputs and compare run totals with statement detail before approval.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Scope, rollout and pricing for Attendance Management.

All questions
How do I get started?

Click Get started, then use Proto to configure Attendance Management for your business. Pilot one department, one payroll calendar, one week of hours and one leave request before opening access to the full team.

How does an employee record a week?

The employee creates a weekly timesheet and adds daily hours with a category. A named approver reviews the submitted header and its total.

Can I distinguish overtime?

Yes. Daily hour entries include regular, overtime, double-time and on-call categories. Review the category detail with the weekly total.

Where do leave requests go?

An employee enters a start and end date and a leave type. The named approver reviews the submitted request against the dated balance; Admin records the decision.

What does payroll review?

Payroll Admin checks approved source hours and leave, prepares a run, and compares the run totals with employee statements and their lines.

Can people see their own pay records?

The Employee role has read access to pay statements, with personal access configured during implementation.

How are departments and managers represented?

The person record links to a department, position, location and manager. Employment changes have an effective-date history.

Does this cover hiring and onboarding?

The app also has requisitions, applications, offers, people records, onboarding checklists and assigned follow-up actions.

How do corrections work?

Keep the source week, request or run identifiable by person and period. Review a changed value with its owner before the next team uses it.
