Professional services teams
Daily hour entries can carry a project reference and cost center. Employees submit weekly headers, while managers review overtime and leave before payroll cutoff. The HR Business Partner maintains the employee context, and Payroll Admin checks the approved source against the pay period. The organization decides which approver owns each worker and when the weekly cutoff applies.
How Attendance Management is set up for you
People context
Use the employee, department, position, location and manager to identify the owner of each request. The People screen gives HR a current workforce register.
Working time
Record each day and its regular, overtime, double-time or on-call category beneath a weekly timesheet. The weekly status tells the recipient whether review is still pending.
Leave
Put start and end dates and leave type on a request; compare it with the dated employee balance before the named approver decides.
Pay period
Review approved weeks and leave at the calendar cutoff, then inspect the run totals and employee statements.

Start with a consultant submitting a regular week and a later leave request. Configure one department, one payroll calendar, one leave type and a named approver. Have the worker submit a complete week and a dated leave request. Review both records, then compare the approved outcome to a test pay period. This makes the decision boundary visible to HR and payroll before a broader rollout.
For teams working across remote, hybrid locations, keep the current assignment and effective changes legible. A location label helps identify the worker; it does not replace the dated hours or leave decision. When a manager changes, retain the prior employment event so an earlier approval still has a clear context.
Use the [hours and leave process](/attendance-management/processes/hours-and-leave) to plan the pilot and the [data model](/attendance-management/data-model) to map the records.
