What you can do

Carry the customer arrangement into the day

A customer order may need a pickup arrangement or a delivery handoff. Front Desk Agent records that arrangement against the selected order, with its outlet name, scheduled date and quantity. Keeping the link intact helps the counter answer where the order belongs and lets the reviewer inspect the same request as the staff preparing the handoff.

Pickup and Delivery identify the requested arrangement. The related order still carries the customer, equipment and production status. Read them together when a customer changes plans so the fulfillment discussion remains connected to the bakery’s current commitment and the quantity being prepared.

How the work is organized

  • Select the right order. Start from the customer commitment and confirm its order number before adding the special order. The link matters when the same customer has several upcoming requests or collects on behalf of someone else.
  • Describe the arrangement. Record Pickup or Delivery with the outlet name, scheduled date and quantity. Use outlet names consistently so the daily review groups arrangements that belong to the same counter or destination.
  • Review the handoff. The special-order action checks the permitted actor and linked order, then submits attributed evidence to Operations Reviewer. Staff can return to the order detail and special-order screen to inspect the saved arrangement together.

What to agree during setup

Agree what the outlet name means in your bakery. It might identify the collection counter or a named delivery destination. Use the same convention across shifts. Confirm the date convention and how the team communicates a changed arrangement to the customer and colleagues doing the work.

Choose the person responsible for checking that a special-order quantity agrees with the customer commitment. Property Manager owns the order details, and Front Desk Agent maintains the arrangement within their permitted work. Operations Reviewer needs enough context to understand the request without relying on the submitter’s memory. Include a correction case in the pilot before accepting busy-day use.

Check the handoff on an actual case

A customer originally arranged Pickup for a celebration order and then requests Delivery to a named venue. Front Desk Agent locates the existing order, checks the current commitment and prepares the revised arrangement with the correct outlet and scheduled date. Property Manager checks any effect on the order’s due date before the bakery makes a new promise.

Operations Reviewer examines the saved request against the linked order. The team then opens the daily handoff list and verifies that colleagues can identify the intended arrangement. Rehearse a similar-looking customer name and an older order for that customer as well. The review should catch a wrong link before it becomes the instruction used at the counter.

Ask the next shift to find the arrangement from the order detail. They should be able to explain the customer request, scheduled handoff and quantity without reconstructing the conversation from memory. Resolve unclear outlet labels before expanding the pilot.

What your team sees

  • Pickup and delivery due — Arrangements scheduled through today with their order, outlet and quantity for the handoff review.
  • Open bakery orders — The customer commitment and production state behind each arrangement.

Follow the work through

Special-order handoff covers preparation and review. Order completion and cleaning follows the customer order into final reconciliation.
