What you can do
Decide the terms on the reviewed revision
Independent Credit Approver examines the requested amount, requested term and supporting evidence before deciding a loan application. The decision records the approved amount, rate and term or a reason for decline. The approval date and operation receipt connect the decision to the action that recorded it. Credit Officer remains responsible for preparation and for resolving questions raised during review.
A bundled application adds an applicant, requested credit and insurance offer to a linked parent loan application. Its review freezes the submitted bundled revision and records the independent decision against that parent and revision. The lending provider’s decision and the insurance provider’s issuance decision remain separate. A bundle marked Approved records the bundle review; the team still follows each provider’s own outcome.
How the work is organized
- Credit review. Start with the submitted application and identify the exact revision under consideration. Examine requested terms, borrower context and verification notes before recording an approval or decline. Keep the decision reason available to the preparer.
- Bundled review. Read the insurance offer with the linked lending request. Confirm that the applicant and organization match the intended case. Preserve the revision examined so a later change does not inherit an earlier decision without review.
- Decision evidence. Retain the reviewer, review stage and source revision with the decision. Conditions and assigned risk grade explain the reasoning. Link the operation receipt so the team can investigate a failed or incomplete recording attempt.
What to agree during setup
Confirm who may act as Independent Credit Approver and how their authority relates to the team member’s approval limit. Configure and rehearse the approved action route before enabling lending decisions. The ability to open a review queue is separate from permission to approve. A preparer must not acquire decision authority merely by changing a page or sending a direct request.
Agree how changed terms return for review, how a returned decision is explained, and who contacts the insurance provider. Define what evidence the team retains when the provider rejects an offer after the bundle review. Keep the parent application and the bundle’s outcome understandable without merging distinct decisions into a single success label.
Check the handoff on an actual case
Rehearse a business expansion request with a linked insurance offer. Credit Officer submits the application and bundle. Independent Credit Approver approves the lending terms on the reviewed application revision, then reviews the submitted bundle. The team records the bundle decision and waits for the insurance provider’s own outcome through the agreed connection.
Repeat with the requested credit changed after submission. The earlier decision must remain attached to the revision it examined. Have the preparer attempt to approve their own work and verify that the configured route denies it. Finally, use a provider refusal to check that the team can explain the difference between a completed internal review and the external insurance outcome.
What your team sees
- Applications Awaiting Review — Examine submitted requests with their revision and decision due date.
- Bundles Awaiting Review — Compare the insurance offer and requested credit with the parent application.
- Application Pipeline Board — Follow preparation and review status without confusing it with actual funding.
Follow the work through
Follow application to credit decision and bundled application review. Approved lending terms continue to funding and reconciliation.
