Blending and mixing teams
A blending team needs to explain which material lots entered a run and how the result was classified. Batch Manufacturing connects the work order to input evidence, production intervals and batch output. Planner sets the resource and quantity; Operator records the actual work; Quality Reviewer decides which inspected good output can be released into inventory.
How Batch Manufacturing is set up for you
Keep source lots distinct
Record each material contribution with its source lot, issued quantity and unit. If a run uses the same ingredient from different lots, keep the separate contributions visible so the inspection can follow the actual consumption.
Check the resource plan
Review the chosen resource's daily capacity and availability before releasing work. Planned start and end dates help Planner and Operator agree the intended production window when several runs need the same mixing area.
Explain the output
Record good, rework and scrap quantities against the batch and output item. Quality Reviewer can compare those amounts with the production interval without treating rework as accepted stock.
Reconcile the withdrawal
Posting the material issue changes the matching inventory balance once. Capturing the input against the batch then provides the material evidence for that run.

Batch Manufacturing connects the work order to input evidence, production intervals and batch output. Planner sets the resource and quantity; Operator records the actual work; Quality Reviewer decides which inspected good output can be released into inventory.
Start with a familiar blend, a production resource and material lots the team can physically identify. For example, use 20 kilograms from one lot and 5 kilograms from another, then check the input records against the posted issues. Keep the finished output unit explicit if it differs from the bulk input unit.
Complete a production interval and have Quality Reviewer inspect the output. Rehearse a repeated material posting and a repeated accepted-output request, verifying that neither duplicates its inventory effect. Agree any equipment-reading connection separately during setup and retain the manual measurement procedure until it has been tested.

Features to start with
Materials and lot inventory
Post material issues to the exact item and lot while keeping inventory and batch evidence understandable.
Batch inputs
Attribute each consumed material and source lot to the batch that used it.
Batch outputs and quality
Keep good, rework and scrap quantities visible while Quality Reviewer decides accepted output release.
Roles on the team
- Planner
- Plans customer demand and production resources and releases eligible work orders.
- Operator
- Posts material issues, records production intervals and captures batch input and output evidence.
- Quality Reviewer
- Creates batch identities, inspects batch evidence, maintains disposition and approves accepted output for inventory receipt.
- Buyer
- Maintains supplier purchase records and reconciles ordered and received quantities.
- Admin
- Maintains identities and reference data and configures the team's access.
