Contract batch producers
A contract producer needs to identify the customer demand behind a run while keeping material and production evidence attached to the batch. Batch Manufacturing connects customer orders and item lines to work orders. Planner can review the required date alongside the assigned resource, and Quality Reviewer can follow the finished batch back to that production context.
How Batch Manufacturing is set up for you
Retain the demand reference
Planner selects the customer order when preparing the work order. Check the requested item and quantity before release so the floor can recognize which demand the run serves.
Settle the production basis
Review the planned quantity, resource and dates while the work is Draft. Release checks the order lifecycle and freezes the product, quantity and material requirements for the run.
Follow supplier quantities
Buyer compares ordered and received amounts on purchase lines and checks the supplier due date. Inspect lot inventory separately when deciding which materials are already available for production.
Explain the recorded production result
Keep good, rework and scrap quantities separate during the customer-demand review. The accepted-output decision records the finished inventory receipt and completes the work order.

Start with a familiar customer order for a product the team already makes. Use its actual required date and a clearly identified resource. Capture a representative material issue and production interval, then compare the batch input and output evidence with the work order before acceptance.
Rehearse a demand cancellation before production release and a quantity change requested after release. Planner should be able to explain the current order lifecycle and the protected production basis. Include a partially received supplier line so Buyer can show the outstanding quantity without assuming it is already on hand at a location. Agree an accounting connection separately if the customer process requires billing outside this production handoff.
