What you can do

Release the inspected output

Operator records batch output against the selected batch and output item. Good quantity, rework quantity and scrap quantity each have their own place beside the unit. Quality Reviewer inspects those quantities with the production and material evidence before approving accepted output. The batch’s disposition lets the team distinguish Pending, Released, Held and Rejected work during that review.

The accepted-output action checks for unreceived good terminal output. It receipts the finished inventory balance once, marks the batch Released and completes the work order. The decision belongs to Quality Reviewer. Recording a good quantity prepares evidence for that decision; the inventory effect happens through accepted-output release.

How the work is organized

  • Capture the output. Operator selects the batch and output item and records the quantities in their stated unit. The capture action resolves those references and checks that the batch exists.
  • Inspect the evidence. Quality Reviewer examines the batch lot and dates, its input records and the work order’s production intervals. Held or Rejected disposition remains visible for follow-up discussion.
  • Approve eligible output. Quality Reviewer approves the inspected output through the release action. The team checks the resulting batch disposition, completed work order and finished inventory balance together.

What to agree during setup

Agree who performs inspection and who can execute accepted-output release. Decide when the batch lot, production date and expiry date are entered and checked. Keep the inspection criteria in the team’s approved operating procedure, with any laboratory results connected from the system that owns them.

Define how Operator separates good, rework and scrap quantities at the end of a run. Review each category before using batch totals in a planning discussion. Rework quantity should remain visible until the team has agreed its next operating action. The original quantity must remain understandable when later production work is planned.

Check the handoff on an actual case

A batch output records 90 good units, 6 units for rework and 4 scrap units. Operator checks the output item and unit before submitting the record. Quality Reviewer inspects the batch and compares those figures with the linked production logs and input evidence. A difference needs explanation before the accepted quantity is released.

Quality Reviewer then approves the eligible good output. The release action checks that it has not already been received, posts the finished balance once and marks the batch Released. The work order becomes Completed. The rework and scrap quantities stay visible in the output breakdown so the next production discussion uses the actual result.

Repeat the accepted-output request during rehearsal and check that it cannot add the same finished goods again. Then examine a batch whose evidence still needs investigation. Quality Reviewer should be able to explain its current disposition and what must be resolved before acceptance. Operator should be able to review quantities without acquiring the reviewer’s decision rights.

What your team sees

  • Batch Release Inbox — Examine Pending batches before the accepted-output decision.
  • Batch Output Register — Review every output record by batch and output item, including rework or scrap entries awaiting a good-quantity entry.
  • Held and Rejected Batches — Keep unresolved quality outcomes visible to the production team.

Follow the work through

Use Output quantities to review to prepare the decision and Batch output to release to inspect the inventory handoff. Agree access in Roles.
