What you can do
Know who is responsible for the work
The Clinical Governance Administrator maintains the team member behind each operational assignment. A team member has a name, role description, active flag and linked platform user. That connection matters when a collection names its owner or a laboratory entry names the person who authorized it. Staff should be able to find the responsible person without relying on a shared account or an abbreviated name.
Professional privileges describe a different part of the responsibility. The privilege record carries its type, license number, issuing authority, verification evidence and effective period. Pending, Verified, Suspended and Expired describe the recorded verification state. The administrator reviews that evidence before marking a privilege Verified and checks the effective dates when the person’s responsibilities change.
How the work is organized
- Staff identity. Keep each team member connected to the intended user account. Review the active flag and role description when a person joins, moves to another responsibility or leaves the team.
- Professional verification. The Clinical Governance Administrator examines the recorded license and evidence, then records the verification decision. The privilege type identifies the responsibility being considered.
- Donor assignments. Record the donor, clinician, access purpose and effective period for each care team assignment. Active and Ended distinguish a current assignment from one that has finished.
What to agree during setup
Agree who verifies professional evidence and which privilege type applies to each clinical responsibility. Use the available Document, Prescribe, Review and Study investigator choices only where they match the customer’s actual work. A named type alone should never substitute for the administrator’s examination of the evidence and effective period.
Define how donor assignments begin and end. The access purpose should explain why the clinician works with that donor. Review account permissions separately from the assignment record during setup, using the roles guide. A clear handoff identifies both the operational owner and the person maintaining the underlying staff identity.
Check the handoff on an actual case
Create a rehearsal team member for Jordan Lee and connect that entry to Jordan’s user account. Add a Review privilege with the relevant issuing authority, verification evidence and effective dates. The Clinical Governance Administrator examines the evidence, resolves any question and marks the privilege Verified when the verification is accepted.
Assign Jordan to a rehearsal donor with a clear access purpose and an effective period. Ask another team member to locate Jordan from that assignment and explain the reason for the work. Then rehearse the end of the assignment: mark it Ended and review the person’s responsibilities before giving them another donor task. Finally, check how the team handles a privilege that becomes Suspended. The administrator should be able to identify the affected work and name the person who will resolve it.
What your team sees
- Pending Privilege Checks — Examine professional evidence awaiting a verification decision.
- Active Care Assignments — Review assignments marked Active, checking the clinician, donor, access purpose and effective dates.
Follow the work through
Use professional access review to rehearse verification and assignment changes. Continue with donor intake and collection once the responsible people are identified.
