What you can do
Make the account scope reviewable
A vault transfer has a requested amount, but that amount alone does not explain where value is expected to move. Transfer account rows record the debit and credit directions, the amount on each side, and the financial account involved. They point back to one transfer. A Case Analyst can therefore prepare the financial scope before the Credit Reviewer makes a decision on the transfer revision.
Each financial account carries its provider, external account identifier, currency, active state and owning party. The team should select the right account for the settlement party rather than typing an account description into the transfer subject. Account snapshots provide dated ledger and available balances for later review. Those balances are provider observations and should be read with their dates.
How the work is organized
- Account register. Keep provider and external account identities with the party that owns each account.
- Transfer scope. Record separate debit and credit rows and compare their amounts with the parent request.
- Balance history. Read dated snapshots when an account balance needs explanation.
What to agree during setup
Agree which provider-held accounts the branch can use, how account codes are named, and when an account becomes inactive. Check the owning party and currency before allowing an account into an operating case. The organization also has a currency; agree how the team will handle a transfer whose account currency needs a conversion. Exchange rates carry effective dates and an overridden flag, so the date of a rate matters when a case is reviewed later.
Set a review convention for the account rows. A request for an amount should have debit and credit scope that both explain that amount. If either side changes after review, the decision must be checked against the revision the reviewer actually saw. The transfer record and its related account rows make that comparison possible.
Check the handoff on an actual case
Choose a draft transfer and add a debit account and a credit account for its intended settlement party. Compare both amounts to the parent transfer amount. Check each financial account’s provider, external identifier, active state and owner. Then have the Credit Reviewer read the account scope while examining the transfer revision. If the Case Analyst changes an account or amount, return the case to review before the team uses the earlier decision as authority. After provider confirmation, trace the movement against the same account through reconciliation.
An Auditor should be able to start from either account and find the transfer that explains a movement. A snapshot dated before the provider effect and another after it help frame the balance question, but the movement record and confirmation evidence still provide the transaction trail.
What your team sees
- Transfer account scope — Debit and credit rows to compare with the linked transfer amount.
- Provider instructions — Submitted requests whose provider account effects need follow-up.
Follow the work through
Use transfer authorization for the decision and account reconciliation for the provider-side check.
