What you can do
Match the booking to usable dining space
A dining area carries the seating capacity and area type the team uses when planning service. Its status explains whether the space is Available, Occupied, Cleaning or in Maintenance. The Property Manager maintains this setup and checks it against the service dates requested by the diner. An Available label is only part of the confirmation decision; the booking must also pass capacity and overlap checks.
Rate plans organize the commercial basis by area type and effective dates. They hold a rate per meal and a minimum meal requirement. The manager uses that information when preparing the booking’s rate. The dated plan helps the team explain the price being offered without assuming that an older service period has the same terms.
How the work is organized
- Describe the space. Maintain a recognizable area number and type with its seating capacity. Use the current readiness status when deciding which area can support the requested service.
- Prepare dated pricing. Maintain rate plans with start and end dates, the area type and minimum meals. Check the applicable plan when entering the rate on the meal booking.
- Protect the next booking. Confirmation checks overlapping service intervals while holding the area lock. After service, Cleaning remains visible until the inspection needed for release has passed.
What to agree during setup
Agree how your staff identify the same space. An area number should remain recognizable to the booking team and the people doing the cleaning. Decide how seating capacity is maintained when furniture is removed for maintenance or the layout changes. Confirm who owns that update before accepting another group.
Agree how the team selects a rate plan when date ranges or area types appear similar. The plan’s minimum meals is part of that commercial discussion. Set the operating currency and how staff interpret the amount before importing rates. Read-only exchange-rate references can support your setup, but the team should agree its conversion procedure before using prices from another currency.
Check the handoff on an actual case
Prepare a dining area for a staff lunch and enter its current seating capacity. Add a dated rate plan for that area type, then have the Property Manager use it to prepare a booking. Check a service date near the plan’s boundary so the person confirming the booking can explain the selected rate and minimum meal rule.
After the group finishes, place the area in Cleaning through the completion process. Attempt to return it to Available before the inspection has passed. The next booking should not rely on that area being ready. Complete the service work and inspect the area, then confirm that the authorized release makes the new readiness state visible to the booking team.
