What you can do
Know what can be booked
Rooms, suites, venues, tables and treatment rooms can each be represented as a resource. Its code, number, type, capacity and status give the desk a common inventory record. A resource marked Available can be considered for a stay, while Cleaning or Maintenance calls for a different operational decision. Occupied reflects a space in use. The status tells the team about the space now; booking dates tell them what has been promised for later.
A rate plan describes a unit type over a start and end period, with a nightly rate and minimum nights. Property Manager can keep plans aligned with the resource types staff actually sell. The nightly rate on a booking then records the amount associated with that stay. The team should agree when a date change requires a rate review instead of assuming a plan edited later rewrites an existing booking.
How the work is organized
- Inventory identity. Give every space a stable code and a type that staff can match to a dated rate plan.
- Capacity and condition. Review the party size against capacity and use the resource status when preparing arrival or turnover.
- Rate periods. Keep plan start, end, nightly rate and minimum nights visible to the people entering bookings.
What to agree during setup
List the spaces the property actually accepts for reservations, including any shared facilities that should be bookable as resources. Agree whether an outlet booking belongs in the amenities area or whether the space itself also needs an inventory record. Decide who changes a unit to Maintenance and who restores it after work. Define how the property interprets date boundaries for rate periods and minimum nights. Keep resource codes stable so old reservations continue to point to the right space when a display name changes.
Check the handoff on an actual case
A group asks for a suite for three nights. The property manager checks its capacity, current status and already confirmed booking intervals. The team also checks the plan for that unit type covering the arrival period and records the chosen nightly rate on the reservation. If the suite is still in Cleaning at arrival, the desk sees that condition beside the confirmed booking and coordinates completion with the assigned service work. A completed task should be reviewed before the space is marked Available. The resource record and booking history together explain the decision.
What your team sees

Follow the work through
Use reservation handling to place a stay and checkout and turnover to prepare the resource again.
