What you can do

Check the result against the authorized quantity

A completed stock action has a recorded outcome, but the team still needs to check whether the posted movement total matches the authorized request. Inventory Supervisor runs reconciliation for that purpose. A matching result produces a Verified operation receipt. A mismatch produces a Failed receipt with the request left unchanged for investigation.

Auditor follows the request’s decision and movement evidence alongside those receipts. Attachments provide the supporting documents or links used during the operating review. The combined record helps the team explain what was authorized, what changed inventory and whether the final quantity passed reconciliation without relying on a verbal account of the shift.

How the work is organized

  • Request context. Inventory Supervisor checks the current request and the relevant review decision. The authorized quantity is the basis against which posted effects are assessed.
  • Outcome review. Operation receipts distinguish Recorded, Verified, Failed and Corrected results. A failure reason directs the investigation toward the action that needs attention while the original evidence remains available.
  • Supporting evidence. Inventory Clerk maintains request attachments with a title and type. Auditor uses the parent links to locate the relevant document together with the decision and movement records.

What to agree during setup

Agree when the team runs completion reconciliation and who handles a mismatch. Define which attachments are needed for the kinds of stock work in scope. A photo or manifest should have a meaningful title so the reviewer can identify it without opening every document attached to the request.

Confirm how operation identities are retained during retries. Reconciliation uses a stable identity derived from the request, so repeated calls refer to the same verification operation. Review the supported correction path when a failed outcome requires a change to authorized scope or posted effects. Keep the relationship between that correction and the original evidence clear during the next review.

Check the handoff on an actual case

For a rehearsal, use an executed request authorized for 24 cases with posted movements totaling 24 cases. Inventory Supervisor runs reconciliation and opens the Verified receipt. Auditor follows its parent request to the decision and movement evidence. Repeat the same verification action and confirm that its existing outcome is returned.

Use a separate controlled case authorized for 24 cases with posted movements totaling 20. Reconciliation should produce a Failed receipt and leave the request unchanged. Inventory Supervisor identifies the four-case difference and investigates its cause before choosing a supported correction. Keep the failed receipt available throughout that work. Auditor should be able to explain which case matched, which failed and what remains unresolved without treating a Recorded receipt as completed verification.

What your team sees

  • Operation Receipts Register — Follow action outcomes and their operation identities for each parent request.
  • Failed Operation Receipts — Focus on failures that require investigation or correction.
  • Returned and Escalated Decisions — Review unresolved decision reasons alongside the request evidence.

Follow the work through

Use Execution to verified completion for the matching and mismatch cases. The reports describe the review questions supported by these records.
