What you can do

Begin with an eligible account

Relationship Owner starts an opportunity with a named customer or prospect company. The account carries its code, contact name, address and eligibility note. App Administrator maintains that information and its active state so the sales team can understand which company it is selecting before recording expected value or attaching a call.

The opportunity also belongs to an organization and an assigned team member. Those references keep the relationship within the correct business context. When teams work across authorized organizations, the account, owner and call records still need to agree on which organization owns the opportunity.

How the work is organized

  • Account identity. The company name and code distinguish the counterparty from similar prospects. Contact and address details help the owner recognize the relationship, while the eligibility note gives the reviewer useful context before qualification.
  • Assigned ownership. Each opportunity points to a team member. That person’s authenticated user link identifies who is preparing the work, submitting calls and following the next activity. A familiar name alone is insufficient for assigning that responsibility.
  • Organization context. Accounts, opportunities and call sessions retain their organization references. App Administrator maintains membership and configuration so Sales Manager and Auditor can review the records they are authorized to see.

What to agree during setup

Agree the account coding convention and the meaning of an active, eligible company. Decide who updates contact details and how the owner reports a duplicated or incorrectly assigned account. Review existing accounts before importing opportunities that depend on them.

App Administrator and Admin should check each team member’s organization and authenticated account link. Agree the working time zone for the organization and its people. Opportunity expected values remain recorded in USD, so confirm that convention with the sales team even when an organization uses a different currency setting.

Check the handoff on an actual case

A prospect has a similar company name to another account in a different organization. Relationship Owner selects the account by its code and contact details, then prepares an opportunity with the intended owner. Sales Manager checks the account and organizational context before reviewing the qualification evidence.

During rehearsal, try selecting the other organization’s account. The team should resolve the mismatch before submitting the opportunity or attaching a call. Then use a team member whose user link is incomplete and confirm that the identity issue is corrected before that person can act as the owner.

Finally, review the account’s eligibility note with the proposed next activity. If the contact or address has changed, App Administrator updates the company record and the owner confirms the opportunity still points to the intended counterparty. Keep this review separate from deciding whether the opportunity itself is Qualified.

What your team sees

  • Account Register — Active company records show contact details and eligibility context for account selection.
  • My Opportunities — Assigned opportunities show the owner’s close dates and relationship references.
  • Open Pipeline — The sales team can review ownership and account context across open stages.
