Prepare work with Proto

Ask Proto to help prepare assessment records and review handoffs.

It can

  • Compliance Lead: Summarize the open findings and operation exceptions for a selected assessment.
  • Assessment Owner: Compare planned test work with recorded test results for the period.
  • Measurement Recorder: Prepare a submitted reading for review by checking its permit, date, value, unit and assessment evidence.
  • Independent Reviewer: Present the submitted reading, its revision, assessment attachments and prior decisions before the reviewer decides.

Stays with a person

  • A person must decide whether evidence supports a permit measurement and record the independent decision.
  • A separate reviewer must assess a corrective action's retest.
  • Proto can prepare context and help configure the workflow, but the named owners make and verify these decisions.

Implementation

Roll out one team at a time

Start with one team and one process, then add the rest once the basics are running.

  1. Define scope

Choose an organization, business unit, assessment owner and independent reviewer. Agree permit identifiers and measurement units.

  2. Load context

Add team members, scored risks and active controls for the pilot unit.

  3. Plan a period

Create an assessment with dates, scope and planned control tests.

  4. Exercise decisions

Record test exceptions, a permit reading with evidence, a reviewer decision and the resulting operation receipt.

  5. Close corrective work

Assign a finding and action, record a retest, and inspect open work before closing the assessment.

All questions
How do I get started?

Click Get started, then use Proto to configure Environmental Compliance for your business. Begin with one organization, one operating unit and a representative assessment period. Rehearse a reading with evidence and a returned reading before adding more units.

What belongs in an assessment?

Record the subject, operating unit, owner, period and planned tests. Individual control tests, permit measurements and attachments link to that assessment.

How are permit readings recorded?

Enter the permit identifier, measurement date, value and unit, then link the organization and parent assessment. Submit the reading for independent review after checking its support.

Who decides a submitted measurement?

The Independent Reviewer examines the submitted reading and evidence, then records an approve, reject or return decision with a reason and source revision. A missing required attachment calls for return.

How is control testing documented?

Each test points to an assessment and control. Record the sample, exception count, result and evidence reference so a later reviewer can follow the conclusion.

What happens after a failed test?

The compliance lead opens a finding against the assessment and control. A named action owner documents the correction, and an independent reviewer records a retest.

Can teams see work across business units?

An organization contains its operating units. Each assessment names its unit and owner, so the team can review periods and exceptions in the right context.

Where is supporting evidence kept?

Assessment attachments carry a title, evidence type, upload date, visibility and uploader. A reviewer checks the relevant attachment alongside a submitted reading.

What does an operation receipt show?

For an attempted guarded action, it records the action, expected revision, result and occurrence date. Failed and needs-review outcomes remain available for investigation.

How do we prepare for an existing permit system?

Agree which source owns permit identifiers, limits and instrument readings. Connect that context during implementation and rehearse how a reading reaches independent review.
