What you can do
Keep the decision attached to the record
A submitted sales order is a decision queue. Its approval establishes the quantity the warehouse may prepare. If an imported channel line remains unresolved, send it back for mapping instead of inventing a stocked product. Sales Manager starts from a submitted local sales order and checks its account, entity, channel and lines. The order owner and expected delivery date give the team a clear follow-up path. A channel purchase keeps its external key and link to the local order, while the local order records the approved customer commitment. Neither a channel approval nor an available stock position is a shipped quantity.
How the work is organized
- Review the customer. Confirm the account belongs to the intended entity and check the ordered contact or delivery details when relevant.
- Check the quantity. Compare each sales line with available stock and keep the product, price and discount visible.
- Release the decision. Sales Manager approves the submitted order before Warehouse Manager reserves or picks stock.
What to agree during setup
Agree which Sales Manager can approve each entity’s orders, who owns later customer changes and how accepted channel demand becomes a local order. Rehearse a webstore purchase with an unknown account and a second order whose product is short. Keep the channel source key when correcting a local line; a repeat channel update should be recognized before it changes approved demand.
Check the handoff on an actual case
A buyer orders through a webstore. The channel order identifies the external order key, while the local sales order carries the account and order lines. The Sales Manager checks the account, available quantities and expected delivery before approving. The original channel key stays available for a later customer inquiry or payment match.
Warehouse Manager needs the approved line quantities and the intended entity before making a reservation. Sales Manager keeps the order open when fulfillment is partial and can compare the original request with the quantity actually shipped. A customer inquiry should lead from the local order back to its channel purchase.
