Sales and dealer orders
Sales and dealer orders gives the team one place to follow the dealer order from its source decision to the next handoff. A furniture dealer asks for dining sets for two sites. The Sales Representative prepares an offer with the right dealer, currency, terms and product units, then records the accepted quantities as order lines. Each line keeps its original promise, even if a later delivery plan changes. Sales Representative prepares the quote and submitted order. Sales Manager reviews the frozen order and credit scope independently; Warehouse Manager then checks eligible reservations.

What you can do
How the work is organized
- Preparation. The owner checks entity, source document and current revision before submitting work.
- Decision. Sales Representative keeps the quote and order linked. Sales Manager approves the submitted revision and credit exception before Warehouse Manager reserves stock.
- Execution. Record the actual quantity or amount against the approved source; retain partial results and linked corrections.
What to agree during setup
Agree who may prepare a quote, who accepts a dealer order, how credit exceptions reach the Sales Manager, and which entity owns each sale. Check the price list, currency rate and terms before acceptance. Test a partial result and a changed document before the team relies on this handoff. Keep the approved revision beside the actual result so the next owner can see what remains.
Assign preparation and approval to different people where the decision controls value or stock. Check entity and warehouse scope with each role; finance keeps bank and valuation details within its own access.
Check the handoff on an actual case
Compare the submitted order with its frozen quote and credit review. The Sales Manager records the acceptance decision independently. Follow each line into reservation and delivery, then compare the unfulfilled quantity with the original promise. Have the receiving owner compare the approved scope with actual quantity and unresolved work. Keep the prior decision visible when a case stops or changes.
Retry an already recorded event and check that it does not create a second stock or financial effect. Trace the correction to the original document and explain the remaining quantity to the next owner.
