What you can do

Turn an approved order into physical work

The warehouse plans picks against accepted sales order lines and their reservations. A pick task has an assigned operator, planned window and actual picked quantity. A delivery then links the order, warehouse, shipment lines and carrier reference. Its status tells the team whether work is planned, ready, dispatched, delivered or in exception.

A route gives the coordinator a stop sequence, planned window and assigned operator. A route plan does not record a customer handoff. Actual attempts and line results show which quantities were accepted, refused, failed or damaged during a visit.

How the work is organized

  • Pick eligible scope. Warehouse Operator records the quantity actually picked against the reserved order line.
  • Release the route. Warehouse Manager reviews the assigned operator, source warehouse and stops before release.
  • Record the outcome. Delivery attempts carry actual visit times and evidence; delivery results allocate each shipment line’s outcome.

What to agree during setup

Decide which warehouses serve each order and how a route’s coordinator assigns operators. Confirm whether the commercial title rule applies at dispatch or accepted delivery. Define the evidence operators record at handoff, including carrier reference for an external carrier. Agree how failed or partial visits return to the exception queue.

For an order delivered in two visits, preserve the first attempt and its accepted portion. The second visit should handle only the remaining eligible scope. An updated route window cannot change the original order promise, which sales uses to assess service.

Check the handoff on an actual case

Approve an order for a stocked paper product. Assign a pick task and record a smaller picked quantity than planned. Build a route with an assigned operator and release it after review. Dispatch the shipment, then record an attempt that accepts some units and refuses the rest. The shipment and order should show a partial outcome without treating the refused portion as successfully delivered.

Inspect the title rule before invoicing. Where title transfers on delivery, the refused units should not become an eligible invoice quantity. Resolve any held or returned stock through its own physical event. Repeating an attempt result should not claim the same shipment line twice.

What your team sees

  • Delivery Schedule — Released and in-progress routes show their planned windows and operators.
  • My Pick Tasks — Warehouse Operator follows assigned work and actual picked quantities.
  • Delivery Exceptions — Sales and warehouse teams see shipments needing resolution.
